Alexander Parzhuber, geboren 1996 in Landshut, ist ein junger Schlagzeuger, Komponist, Producer und Pädagoge aus Köln.
​
Von Oktober 2014 bis März 2020 absolvierte er seinen Bachelor of Music mit Hauptfach „Jazz-Schlagzeug“ an der Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln bei Prof. Jonas Burgwinkel, Alex Vesper und Dietmar Fuhr.
​
Während seines Studiums in Köln war Alexander von 2016 bis 2018 Mitglied im Bundesjugendjazzorchester Deutschland, um dort mit Künstlern wie u.a. Niels Klein, Jiggs Whigham, Randy Brecker, Jörg Achim Keller und Pablo Held zusammenzuarbeiten und verschiedene Tourneen weltweit zu spielen.
​
Als DAAD-Stipendiat wurde es ihm 2020/2021 ermöglicht ein Jahr in Frankreich am Conservatoire Supérieur National de Musique et de Danse de Paris bei u.a. Drè Pallemaerts zu studieren.
​
Aktuell spielt Alexander hauptsächlich in eigenen künstlerischen Projekten, wie dem Parzhuber Trio, Kurz Ludwig Parzhuber feat. Loren Stillman und in Working Bands wie dem Simon Nabatov Trio, Christine Corvisier 5tet, Himoya, The Human Element, La Campagne und Vagabond Souls.
​
Als Sideman spielt(e) er national wie international mit Nathan East, Simon Nabatov, Tineke Postma, Pe Werner, der WDR Big Band, dem Subway Jazz Orchestra, dem Cologne Contemporary Jazz Orchestra, Projekten von Jorik Bergman, Fabian Dudek, Heidi Bayer’s Virtual Leak, Simon Oslender und dem Jacob Manz Project.

Einige Projekte mit Beteiligung von Parzhuber erhielten Nominierungen für verschiedene Auszeichnungen, wie beispielsweise den Preis der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik 2024 (LaCamgane - Protecting A Picture That’s Fading) oder den Deutschen Jazzpreis 2023 in der Kategorie Vokalalbum des Jahres (CCJO feat. Heiner Schmitz – Tales from the Wooden Kingdom).
​
Neben der Live-Auftritte produziert, mischt und mastert Alexander regelmäßig für Artists, wie z.B. Susanna – Lie To Me, BenWalden – Two Of The Better Ones, River - The Human Element, Percussion EP II - Felix Hauptmann und nimmt Schlagzeug auf für Artists wie z.B. Lisl und Lisa Spielmann. Seit Anfang 2025 betreibt er sein eigenes Ton- und Produktionsstudio „Linie1“ zusammen mit Jan-Felix Rohde.

Seit dem Wintersemester 2021/22 unterrichtet Alexander Jazz-Schlagzeug an der Hochschule für Musik und Theater München.

Alexander Parzhuber, born in Landshut in 1996, is a young drummer, composer, mixing/mastering engineer, and educator based in Cologne.
​
From October 2014 to March 2020, he completed his Bachelor of Music with a major in "Jazz Drums" at the Cologne University of Music and Dance under Prof. Jonas Burgwinkel, Alex Vesper, and Dietmar Fuhr.
​
During his studies in Cologne, Alexander was a member of the German National Youth Jazz Orchestra (BuJazzO) from 2016 to 2018, collaborating with artists such as Niels Klein, Jiggs Whigham, Randy Brecker, Jörg Achim Keller, and Pablo Held, and performing on various worldwide tours.
​
As a DAAD scholar, he was enabled to study for one year in France at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris in 2020/2021, under instructors such as Drè Pallemaerts.
​
Currently, Alexander plays mainly in his own artistic projects, such as the Parzhuber Trio, Kurz Ludwig Parzhuber feat. Loren Stillman, and in working bands like the Simon Nabatov Trio, Christine Corvisier 5tet, Himoya, The Human Element, La Campagne, and Vagabond Souls.

In addition to live performances, Alexander regularly produces, mixes, and masters for artists such as Susanna – Lie To Me, Ben Walden – Two Of The Better Ones, River - The Human Element, Percussion EP II - Felix Hauptmann, and records drums for artists like Lisl and Lisa Spielmann. Since the beginning of 2025, he has operated his own recording and production studio, "Linie1," together with Jan-Felix Rohde.

Since the winter semester of 2021/22, Alexander has been teaching jazz drums at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich.
